About F2die4™.

F2die4.com came out of the blue one evening ten years ago, whilst enjoying a meal with friends.

My mother had died and when it came to the funeral my father joked that it was a good idea that it wasn’t his funeral because, as a little girl, I had promised him a glass carriage with horses and 100 red roses to be placed on his coffin.  5 months later, sadly, my father passed away.  There was only one thing to be done and that was to honour my promise.

So we set about organising a glass carriage with black horses and ordered 100 red roses.  My father was a member of the local male voice choir and it was suggested that they should perform a hymn at the funeral.  42 members of the choir sang in unison and there wasn’t a dry eye in the church.  Coincidentally there was a fly past by the RAF, which I didn’t organise but everyone thought that I had.  It was a very moving day and I believe we laid him to rest with dignity and a little style.

I was relaying this story to my friends and just added the comment that I did ’funerals to die for’.  The seed of an idea was born.

When my husband passed away in May 2005 I knew that I wanted to make his funeral a very special one.  We had a Scottish piper play, his best friend Garry Moloney followed the hearse to the church in Keith’s Aston Martin DB9 and when Keith’s sons lowered his coffin into the ground Neil, another close friend of Keith’s, rallied two shots into the air above the heads of the mourners using Keith’s beloved Berretta.  Everyone jumped.  It was a splendid send off and one that Keith would have enjoyed.

After my husband died I decided to turn the seed of an idea into reality and so it was that f2die4.com was born.  Out of a desperate situation and a need in me to help others who found themselves in similar circumstances.

I like to think that Keith is looking down on me and directing me in this venture.  I am sure that he would approve.  I dedicate this site to Keith’s memory.
